Lion(OS X 10.7) is not for existing Macs, but for a (new) tablet device.

If you are a user of Macintosh, remain in Mac OS X. OS X is not for Macintosh.

Think about dropping 'Mac' from the original 'Mac OS X 10.7 Lion'.

I think it's pretty clear that Apple considers the iPad to be the tablet mac.

For a new tablet device? I guess that's why they made the entire interface less touch intuitive (for example the size of the window traffic lights) and been focusing a lot on multitouch on trackpads rather than the screen itself.

they didn't drop the Mac, except for in some marketing materials where it would have been redundant to say Mac OS X Lion over and over. Don't believe me check out what about this Mac says on a lion instalation, here's a picture borrowed from another thread.

Also we will never see a tablet from Apple running a desktop operating system, Microsoft tried and failed. iOS is for mobile devices like tablets and OS X is for desktops and laptops.
