I'm trying to set up the mini as a server/HTPC for the household. I can share files over AFP for myself and the everyone account, but if I try to assign specific permissions to specific folders (via get info) it won't take. I can unlock, click plus, select a user, but it won't add to the list.
Second, samba sharing is a no go. I enable it and nothing happens.
Third, I am finding weird users. My name appears as a user and as a group (I don't remember if that is unusual), there is a user named "Unknown User" that gets permission to access any folder by default, and when I went to turn on samba, there were two blank users I could enable.
Finally, we have one FAT drive we need to share on the network. It can only be accessed locally. I can add it in system preferences, but it won't show up on the network and I can't access it with command+K either.
