So I have a Macbook and my parents have an iMac, each with seperate Apple IDs. If I purchase Lion using my Apple ID, is there anyway I can install it on my parents iMac without purchasing it a second time, either via the App Store or a Lion bootdisk made in diskutil? I am guessing I would log into the app store on their iMac with my ID and download it, but will they be promted for my Apple ID credentials for software updates, etc? Any help is greatly appreciated.

once it's installed they don't really care any more and u still get all the software updates just fine. apple isnt really big on "DRM" they make their money off of hardware

As said it doesn't really matter, If you need to reinstall Lion one day, then you just have to have a backup, or download it again from the original iTunes account it came from.

Can you buy it twice on on the same computer with 2 sep Apple IDs??

I cannot download it where I am but my friend can where he is?

If he buys it and installs it etc, is it poss for him to log in with my ID and also download it again for me under my name and then pass it to me on USB?

Im not sure how this works e.g. does it just download a dmg to your downloads awaiting you to execute it? We would both like it under our own IDs
