Lion on Core Duo

Was hoping to upgrade to Lion on my Core Duo iMac 2.0ghz.

Just found out that it will only run on Core2 +

Someone mentioned there was a way to make it run but I can't find the thread anymore.

Failing that, If I slip in a Core2Duo T7400 processor will that work?

I'm confused now...so It would have worked in the DP's but not the release candidate right?

Even if I upgrade the processor?

It will probally not work since we have the old intel Core Duo Macbooks, the Mac App Store won't let us download lion try it.
