New mac user here with a couple of questions.

1)I would like put some of my apps in launch pad (VLC and Handbrake), but I cannot drag and drop them there. Is there a way to do this?

2) How do I completely remove software?

3) How do I delete the files for software that I download and installed? If I put them in the trash it says they are in use.

Thanks in advance. Love the mac, especially the gestures.

1) It has to be in the applications folder than it will automatically show in Launch Pad

2) Just drag it to the trash.

3) If you didn't drag the files out of the DMG and into your applications folder this could be causing that problem.

thanks, that helped. I am still having trouble deleting the dmg files for the apps I installed. This includes apps that I did drag to the applications folder. Any ideas on how to fix this.

Was able to fix it with a restart and then empty the trash. Thanks for the help.
