I have a Synology NAS (DS211+) as well as Lion Server running on my Mac mini. When it comes to file sharing and web hosting, both can perform this function. I am new to Lion Server so am looking for advice as to which is best to use for this and why?
Are there advantages/disadvantages to both to host a small site and allow remote file access?

Both systems will do the job pretty well. For web hosting your Mac Mini will do a better job, remote file access will be about the same through either one. I suspect the Synology NAS will have an easier setup for the remote access.
