Lion Thumbdrive install

I don't particularly want to burn a disc to do a clean install, and I am going to have to run this installation across multiple macs. Is there a way to dump the installer onto a thumbdrive and make it bootable?

Do a Restore from the .dmg image to the flash drive, then boot from the flash drive?
