Hi Guys,

I'm looking to delete absolutely everything off my MacBook, but I've lost the original discs provided.

I've purchased Lion OS through the Mac App Store, will installing this software give me the option the do a clean install, and start a fresh?

Ideally, I'm looking to start fresh, and speed up my Mac.

Is this the right thing to do?

Thanks!

Starting fresh won't speed up your mac if the sluggishness you noticed is caused by a hardware issue. If it is caused by software, it will alleviate the problem.

With that said, there is a way to make a bootable DVD out of the Lion download, which would in fact allow you to do a clean install, as you intend.

It won't do a "clean install"... But if you want your Mac to run faster, just get more RAM. Clean up the startup programs and you'll be gold man.
