Lip between glass and band? iPhone X

Hey folks,

Just opened the box of my new X after receiving yesterday. After seeing some scratch and dust posts I thought I best check before getting into transferring stuff over.

All good in that respect!

Though one thing I notice is that there is a slight lip between the steel band and the screen edge. Though it seems only to be only at the middle on the sides. Top, bottom and corners seem almost flush.

Can others check and let me know if this is maybe normal? I live miles away from a store otherwise I’d just pop in and look.

Same issue on mine, but also had the same issue on my 7+

On my silver 256gb model the bottom left rear glass has a slight edge to the glass. I can feel it being a little rougher on the glass so I think its raised slightly. Also there is a small scratch on metal band just under volume button.

Cracked open my black 256gb model and glass is flush on front and rear.

Mine has a more noticeable lip on the corners. I think it’s normal. Due to tolerances nothing can ever be completely perfect.

I have a tiny pin scratch or almost like divot/pit in Mine. NotIced when cleaning to put on zagg.

Sigh. No way apple will say it arrived this way. But pretty confident it did as it didn’t leave my hands for two hours and then our zagg on.
