Liquid Glass effect on lockscreen missing.

I’ve seen a bunch of reviews where, when you pull down the lock screen, the edges distort the icons underneath—the Liquid Glass effect. But my lock screen is just tinted. Is there a setting I’ve missed?

I’m on a 16 Pro Max (getting the 17 tomorrow).
