Maybe the metal will stay soft and the iphone will stretch out to the size of an ipad?!? Kinda explains the retina display ... 4 times the resolution so it stretches to ipad resolution. hmmmmmmm

:eek::confused::rolleyes:

EDIT: if they add a speaker to the bottom, you could wrap it around your head ... no more earbuds!

One pair of my glasses are made of liquid metal. They bend to any shape and spring back. My other pair are titanium, if I bend those they will stay bent.

The difference is called elastic and plastic (inelastic) deformation.
Normal metals show some varying, usually minor degree of elastic deformation under force, that is completely reversed when the force is taken away. If more force is applied the material deforms permanently.
Your glasses are most probably made from NiTi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel_titanium that shows superelastic properties.

Liquidmetal is, to my knowledge, only moderately elastic. After it has reached its yield strength (which is higher than for ordinary metals) it simply breaks.

So refreshing to see a company like Apple Inc. ALWAYS moving forward and bringing us terrific products and the newest innovations!

IMO - The iPhone is thin enough!

Any thinner and it will feel too flimsy in the hand, even if it is structurally rigid.

Agreed, but any saved space can be put to use by a bigger battery and the iPhone can always use a bigger battery. I suspect we won't see any real dimension size change in the next iteration of the phone.

I've been bending this SIM ejector clip back and forth for quite a while... still hasn't snapped! :cool:

:edit: nevermind it finally snapped. :c
