Gucci pouch. $170

Noreve 'Tradition' sandy vintage leather case for iPhone 4 arrived

Pictures tell most of the story. I'm just starting to use it, and so far I am quite pleased. Great fit and quality materials. Comfortable to hold. For those who care, yes it smells great but I only notice if I put it right under my nose. :D I've included an image that shows how the leather will look after some decent handling (or a coat of boot wax if I get impatient).

The case comes with a swivel clip but I opted for their metal one. It installs in seconds, and after a few try-outs I settled on the locking orientation that best suits my movements. It's really quite clever and sturdy as all get out.

I hope this helps some of you in your search for "the right" case. :)

Pics are there now...

Sorry 'bout that! Pics were there when I previewed the post before submitting last night. So I edited just now and looks like they are in place. :D Lemme know if you still can't see them!

Ah, no worries, was asking in case I might learn of some technical benefit like better shock absorption or better durability following exposure to rain. :)

I have stumbled across the Melrose Kroo case. It is a flip-up style in immitation leather.

Also came across this faux leather Shinnorie case which is very similar to their leather case. Many color combos, hardware options, etc. I haven't personally tried Shinnorie, but the web site emphasizes their ability to customize construction. If you like their product in general but would prefer something slightly different it may be worth contacting them to see what they can do.

Good luck on your search!

I just got one of those, the real leather ones, it looks so cool! This is the customization I made:

Something else worth mentioning.

I have a Power Support anti-glare HD screen protector on the front.

Completely compatible with the case. No bubbling or puckering around the edges.

The only contact the case makes with the front screen is at the center left and right edges. The case curls around to clip onto the iPhone's metal case, and the Noreve edges just touch the thin edges (not really the front) of the iPhone screen.

If your screen protector is unusually thick, or if it wraps around to the sides of the iPhone, then you might experience difficulty. Seems to me, though, that Noreve thought this out and made intentional allowance for typical screen protectors.

In fact, except for those middle clips, swiping the screen feels very much like swiping a naked iPhone because the screen's elevation is just slightly above the case's edges. And the low profile of the middle clips doesn't come close to impinging on the active touch area of the screen. All of the dimensions are well-engineered.

For the SGP vintage cases, shinnorie and noreve, flip cases, do you take it out of the case when using the phone or let the flap hang out while you're talking on it? Is it troublesome to use the phone for talking with the case on? Can all these cases have the flap pull till the back of the phone?

I'm currently using the SGP Vintage Leather and I have no issues using the phone with the flap to the back or just hanging.. It's a fantastic case.

Most of the flip cases are designed to stay on the phone during use. Typically, a leather flip case's hinge is supple and easily folds all of the way back.

Once a case is on I rarely take it off. Some people like to let the flap dangle while talking or tapping, but I much prefer to fold it all of the way back. It's quite comfortable and unobtrusive. It doesn't take long for this method to become second nature.

That's also how I position the flap for charging and syncing.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for keeping the thread updated, guys. I won't continue to update the list/gallery in the first two posts of thread since it's become too much work and I don't have as much free time as I did when I started the thread. Just read through the thread for all of the available choices.

My shinnorie snap

You mean it snapped like in half or thats what it called lol. I was looking at customizing the shinnorie and wondering is it troublesome to unbutton the flap to use. Does the SGP vintage takes effort to open?

Im worried about having the flap looking weird like how this video explains the monaco flip case:

I was hoping the SGP has a card slot version. Do you have a link to the noreve case? How much is it?
