What would you guys say are the must have apps for jailbroken ipads, from the most basic to really cool unique ones? I specifically have an iPad 1 incapable of 3G, so no tethering (MyWi)

Depends on your usage, really. But here are a few I'm glad I have:

BrowserChanger - if you don't use safari as your browser, it makes links in other apps open in the browser of your choice.

Dimmer - lets you turn the brightness all the way down

SBSettings and Activator - these are probably the closest to "must-haves" because some other tweaks rely on them.

RetinaPad - run iPhone apps at full resolution

nolockscreen - what it says on the tin.

    iFile - actual filesystem access

I think that hands down the best customization app is springtomize. It does everything....literally

I loved Cydelete (I think) it allows you to remove jail broken apps by holding them and hitting the X
There was also something similar which would let. You move any app around by holding it then giving it a check mark. You could move multiple apps just by checking them, swiping to a new page and then hitting the home button. It made reorganizing so so much easier.

I also liked installious which you can get through the hackulo.us repo

    Uhm
    SBS and Activator for sure
Winterboard to customize even more (like transparent icons ect)

I also like flu.x which helped the blue tint on my iPad one. It turns off and on based on time though rather then lighting so around 6pm you get a nice warm glow. Which was awesome too when using it in dark places like a restaurant

If you can't afford retina pad there is also something that is the same (mostly) but free. I can't recall it's name off the top of my head. Does any one else know?

    Hm.

Also, if you don't care about paying for some stuff, there is a keyboard tweak to buy which will color your keyboard for you in multiple designs.

I like Showcase. It'll actually change the letters on the keyboard depending on if it's going to be an uppercase or lowercase letter. Pretty cool.

    thief!

dont use installous guys. People make a living developing apps. You could essentially be taking money away from some guy supporting his family..

Just to play devil's advocate here, but the app store's lack of a demo/trial/refund system make it easy to get burned by some apps. Having a risk free way to try new apps is a pretty good way to make a sale, imo.

I'm really looking forward to using MyWi OnDemand so that I can tether my ipad 3 to my iphone 4s using bluetooth when ever I want to use the internet. And the best part, as the name implies, is that because it is on demand you can leave it on with out draining the battery of the iphone. Right now if I want to tether to my iphone I have to make it a wifi hotspot and that eats up the battery like crazy plus I have to remember to turn it on and off.

    ----------

Honestly that is what I use it for. For example TomTom costs $45, so before I put down that kind of money I want to make sure the thing works like I want.

Once I know it will do what I want then I'm willing to pay so I can get the updates.

iProtect is one of my favorites. It password protects specific apps you'd like to protect (in case someone wants to borrow your iPad aka they go through your iMessages and email like if it were their business.)

FakeClockUp is also nice, it speeds up UI without the need of overclocking or anything.

What is the difference between MyWi and Tetherme? I have used Tetherme thus far with no problems or letters/calls from AT&T while using it sparingly...I may stick with it but wondering if MyWi is the better choice.

I just jail broke my iPad 3. I really need some suggested tweaks from cydia and this thread seems useless. It's more of a installous argument than anything else.
