Haven't got any evidence but I bet you can run it absolutely maxed with 50+ frames

I hardly believe it. It can be probable on a low res like 1280*800, but when you are doing battles with 4 stacks you are going to see a lot of lag.

For example a 7870 with a OCed i7 3770k can handle that battle, with fps drops to 20 ish fps when you are zoomed in.

Max Payne 3 : 2048x1553 - 30fps - High settings with Very High Textures

Borderlands : 1920x1200 - 45 FPS - Maxed settings

Skyrim : 2880x1800 - 30-45 fps - High settings or 1920x1200 - 40 - 60 fps. Both using high res textures

Homefront : 1920x1200 - 45fps - Maxed

Crysis 2 : 1920x1200 - 30fps - Very High

Portal 2 : 1920x1200 - 60fps - Maxed, 2880x1800 30fps Maxed - 720x480 windowed 250fps (I just thought that was amusing.)

Call of Duty 4 : SP - 2880x1800 30 - 45 fps - maxed, MP 1680x1050 60 fps (MP is frame limited...in SP this goes 120fps) maxed.

Far Cry 2 - 2880x1800 - 30fps (game has to be frame limited or it stutters) Ultra High

Amnesia: The Madness Descends: 2880x1800 - 30fps Maxed, 1920x1200 45fps

Saints Row 2: 1920x1200 45-60fps - maxed with Nvidia controlled AO and AA

LA Noire: 1920x1200 35-45 fps - maxed 2880x1800 20-30fps

The Witcher 2:

thats the best quality I could get it. It runs at higher res but those settings look and perform great.

Mass Effect 3: 2880x1800 30+fps maxed

Metro 2033: I didn't spend enough time tweaking...but it ran best at 1680x1050.

Mafia 2: 2880x1800 30fps (drops to 18 in some places tho) 1920x1200 45-50fps

Alice: Madness Returns 2880x1800 Max Graphics, PhysX High - 45fps

Dead Island: 2880x1800 maxed 25-30fps 1920x1200 45-60fps (some stuttering, could need frame limit.)

Assasins Creed: Revelations: 2880x1800 Maxed 30fps, 1920x1200 45-60fps.

Dragon Age: Origins - 2880x1800 Maxed 33fps

FEAR 3 - 1920x1200 maxed 45fps (this game really sucks btw...I finally decided to play it...what an insult to the fear series!!)

I think the person you were replying to isn't use to gaming on a laptop.

How good runs Witcher 2, Dead Space 2 and Metro 2033? And big thanks for all your results :)

Ah that's a fairly recent game, I must have been thinking of Empire. Still, what resolution are you referring? A 7870 should smash that game, with perhaps low/no AF/AA at 1080p. I would've thought the 650M could give you a decent run at high details and 1650x1050.

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than play a FPS game at 30fps.

The only acceptable game I play on my MBP is CS:S with 60fps
