Seems like they all do the same thing so is there any sense in having all three?

Just Type would be your "I just want to write down text" option and Drafts and Scratch are more about writing in plaintext and Markdown.

For me redundant but at a buck a pop (what I paid) I wanted to get a good take on both Markdown apps.

$200 is not a lot for a phone dude. I use the phone app for several hours a day, all other apps maybe 2 minutes a day or less. I get a lot out of my iphone or whatever smartphone I choose to get, even if I do still talk a lot on the phone.

Clearly spent too much money on a "phone".
