Anyone know why Apple doesn't give us the ability to assign specific tones and durations to calendar alerts, sent mail, new mail, and new voicemail; and assign custom intervals to calendar alerts? I know I often don't even hear that weak little tone that sounds, very briefly, for those things, and even the most basic cell phones of old allowed a custom interval for alerts.

There are also things like grouping in the Contacts app, and assigning ringtones to groups, which I know many people have complained about.

Are things like these really difficult to implement in a phone OS?

No there not hard to implement its just Apple is stubborn and likes to keep things simple.
