Hi all!

Been out of the scene for a bit. Have a 5S with a Jailbroken IOS 7.0.1

Time to update to 9xx or higher. From what I understand the latest untethered is 9.1?

I dont want to lose contacts, pics, etc.

I have a full backup in Itunes right now but am a little overwhelmed with all the information out right now on how to jailbreak to 9.1 like when you restore from the backup, what jailbreak to use, and what order to do all the steps.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Oh wow, so there is literally no way for me to update to IOS 9 jailbreak? I thought the signing had to do with downgrading but not upgrading....

Yes, when it comes to this...Android runs rings around the Apple devices.

I really miss this on my iPad though...don't really need this on my iPhone, though it would be nice.

Photos, just copy from iPhone to computer, and then copy to android phone

Contacts, sync contacts to Google contacts from iPhone, and then back to your android phone. Or you can use one of those apps those export a vcf file and then import on your android

Awesome! So the photo's and videos are all in random folders Apple puts them in. I can just keep the folders and the Android photo app will pick it up? Sorry for being a noob.

They're not in random folders. Just plug your iPhone to your computer and you can view and copy the folder with pics and videos just like when you connect a digital camera.
When I do that I have 7 different folders containing photo's. Each folder is names random names like "DFSDUI"

Yes, that should work

Weird, mine are all in one folder.
Im using Windows 7 and just browse via my computer.
They get placed in random folders when you import pictures into camera roll via a SD card (Didn't actually know about this until I helped my mom's friend back up their photos on their iPad)

Odd. Ive never actually done that before! I have had photo's on this phone from IOS 4. I assumed that when a folder hit a max then it creates another folder.

This is the exact issue I have on my phone. You guys saying you have tons of folders on your phone and only have one folder with thousands of images in them?

We have it where each folder can contain a range of 1000 pictures. For example, IMG_0000 - IMG_0999. Another folder is IMG_1000 - IMG_1999

My only guess is that you're restoring from backup and that's causing some weird stuff to occur

Yeah I mean I have been in the IOS ecosystem since the 3GS. When getting new phones I would backup and restore the backup from the new phone so it could have carried over legacy stuff.

With the android phones, does the photo app pull all photos from only a single folder? Should I just dump all the photo's in a single folder before popping it on the android?

Not sure about whether android only looks at a specific folder or searches all storage media for photos
