Little map in contacts gone.

In contacts, select a person, scroll to the address is the little map with location pin gone or is it there?
On my iPhone 11 and iPad 9 the map has been replaced with a location pin icon. Just want to know if anyone else has this and is it the new normal?

I can't find any screenshots of the little map to compare. Was that a pre-iOS 26 thing? I'm getting old and my memory is not as good. Definitely not a feature on my phone using 26.4.1.
 
Yep, I noticed this too =/

Hoping it's temporary, and not some wonky decision from the team

The thumbnail lets one see where the contact is without having to tap other things, which makes sense to me. I've been able to see if my wife or kids are at work or home, etc, without having to drill in

The 'tap to see the map' would be for further details or initiating a drive, I'm thinking

PS - and to your point, it's fine if it doesn't come back. But if it does, I'd appreciate the data =)

🤔 I don't recall the thumbnail showing CURRENT location - I've always just used Find My for that. The only location icon I see in Contacts app is for the contact address, e.g. I see a contact's home address and if I touch the icon, it shows where that is. But if I open Find My, I see that they're many miles from there at work.

It's possible of course that it DID show current location; I'd just never have thought to look in Contacts for that.

As far as I know also and it's not far at all lol anyway the thumbnail map showed the location of the address.
Anyway, thanks all, I just needed to know if the icon had replaced the thumbnail (thanks for the word because my brain went blank lol) map as the new norm.
