If you don't know what it is, deny it (but only once). If your program starts acting funny, won't load etc., load the Little Snitch Configuration and remove everything associated for the program.
Here's an example
ff61f3a5c9d0a32b617ff2504947d3da.png
. When your program attempts to connect to the [internet] again, it will ask if you wish to deny allow etc.
:)

EDIT: And See EYETV3? Here I'll show you what I meant by updates only.
It should say "allow any connection", but I have only 1 license and two macs, so I installed it on this mac and only allowed it to access the update server - to update the program. I'm going to remove ETV3 off the other mac at some point. :)

EvanLugh... Much appreciated , your post now sheds a bit more positive light on my doubts about LS being a pain in the backside when you don't know how to use it correctly ..... I think its time to bite the download bullet :)

Many Thanks

(hey pirate-boy, are you trying to get this thread deleted?)

Adobe has some very sophisticated anti-piracy methods. With little snitch and your torrented CS3.dmg, you might get it running without encountering the basic method Adobe uses to counter cs3 piracy. However, Adobe does know that your ip is pirating its products, they just do not shut you down because to do so would lead many hacks to solving Adobe's highly sophisticated "watching-you" technologies. If you ever use PS or any other Adobe products for profit, that is when they might do something besides just watch. Adobe purposely allows students/consumers/non-pros torrent their software. Any means to get the consumer addicted to it. Once you are addicted, and then become A.) A professional B.) highly-paranoid C.) An older non-student with more expendable cash..and a conscious about theft......you will buy it.

Well LS is now up and running, ive set some deny and allow rules, and now I have whats shown below, I have marked with a Red dot ( • ) the things I am not too sure of..? can some please comment on whats shown ..? Thanks

EvanLugh.. Thanks again , what do you think about the items in the All Applications..? I don't know what the Bonjour is or the others ..?

You can allow all those :)

Bonjour, formerly Rendezvous, is Apple Inc.'s trade name for its implementation of Zeroconf, a service discovery protocol used in Apple's Mac OS X ...

LittleSnitch seems to be settling down now, but I have one thing that keeps asking for access , and ive searched but not come up with an answer, can any one please advise me what this is ..

That's one of your dashboard widgets trying to connect to the internet.
Click the 'show details' button to see exactly what it is - if you still can't find, then copy/paste the web address it's trying to connect to into google then see what the widget is.

It'll most probably be completely safe.

Just take a closer look at the picture... it's only a ping, which is safe. It's probably a widget that has something to do with IP addresses or broadband/the internet in general?
