The new version of Little Snitch is great plus they now offer a family package for ppl like me with more than 2 comps in the house.

You can download and use a utility called WaterRoof to change the built in port filtering firewall (called IPFW.) WaterRoof is a GUI so you won't have to use the terminal. You could just block the port used by the app in question.
