That's why I say the marketing clowns are running the asylum. Battery life depends what you're doing? Web browsing, watching a movie, playing a game, etc. All have wildly different battery lives. Is 5 hours just a few percent longer in standby mode or is twice the battery life playing games? With Apple marketing in charge, every statement they make contains no real content.

The cheapest DSLR with a kit lens still makes better photos than any camera phone out.
The professionals know how to make good artistic use of the camera, and alter the photos after they are taken. Nothing weird about that.
If you expect unaltered photos taken in your backyard to look like that, you'll definitely be disappointed.
