These software updates in iLife are pretty gimmicky so far. More and more interfaces, more and more of the software trying to guess what you want to do and more and more wizard type interfaces (even if it is a pretty carousel) rather than intuitive paradigms.

And when has iChat been independently updated? I don't remember it ever being updated except in a major OS update. Like a guy said earlier they might change that to add FaceTime this year.
