I'm kind of liking the idea of the touchbar, but I'm not sold on it, and if the MBP doesn't have the SD port, this is fitting my needs less and less

Just imagine how awesome that touch bar would be if it were on the display and filled the entire area, aka a touchscreen.
My hands are tired from just thinking about it. I'd rather they not shoehorn a touch screen into a laptop just to "me too" Microsoft.

As an example of why this is a problem, in any programming IDE I know that F8 is "step over" when I'm debugging, because it's been standardized that way forever.

Now it's.... some custom thing???

So instead of pressing one button and then F8, you just tap F8 on the bar?

As an Editor..I would NEVER use that bar.. a mouse or trackpad is much easier.

I think you are missing the point. Which is that you can get parts of your editing UI outsourced to your keyboard which means that you can use your UI for something else (like the full screen view). Of course its not a holy grail and not a replacement for a proper mouse/keyboard UI. But its much more useful than a static strip of function keys that are almost never used. Its about moving useful shortcuts down there to your keyboard.

Another example: two hand usage! One hand on the control bar one hand on the trackpad.

There is no SD slot. They've shown it from all sides. They're banking on docking stations/monitors.

Seriously all this "touch bar" focus is just stupid. I mean if you implemented entire full touchscreen on the new mbp then you would not need this gimmicky touch bar crap.

But of course that would require apple to do real work as in make macos work right. Implement full touch screen on the damn computer and you would do away with all these gimmicky features. The only feature that is worthy is the new touch ID chip. Other than the larger mac trackpad everything is so meh...please let the price be the same/cheaper.

Seems the Apple Events on Apple TV doesn't work. Stopped playing, now it's completely broken. Even after a restart.
