Wow the iPad line doesn't make sense anymore. There was a huge difference between the iPad 1 and 2, then iPad 3/4 design.

But now, there's already iPad Mini 1, 2, 3, 4 which look absolutely the same are barely upgraded but have the same price 4 years after? The iPad Air 1 and 2 are the same, but no innovation or news? Plus the new iPad Pro.

Yeah, there iPad line is a mess, but we'll see how the Pro does.

Ipad is becoming more of a mature product line. Macs don't have dramatic changes from year to year either.

Not really, since it is still running a tablet OS on an ARM chip.

I believe Apple and Microsoft have a patent sharing arrangement. That's how Microsoft was able to make the smart cover in the first place (using Apple's patents). My guess is that Apple gets to use Microsoft's patents for the keyboard element.
