To make it almost 2.5 hours is unacceptable to most people. Anything longer than 1.5 hours and people get bored, fidgety, and need to go to the toilet.

What? Who is holding a gun to anyone's head making them watch the livestream? Seven thousand different news sites will have 5-minute (and 2-minute and 30-second) videos of the most exciting bits (surrounded by lists of bullet points for those too jumpy to watch 5 minutes of video)... those will be everywhere this afternoon. There will also be approximately one million tweets explaining "everything" in 140 characters. Anyone watching the livestream is doing it of their own volition and has nobody else to blame.
