deffinetly slower than touch id, you have to swipe up everytime now?

hopefully there's an accessibility settings for that. I never use the lock screen

Why make the user swipe after looking at the phone? I guess to avoid inadvertent unlocking. They should have a gesture instead that lets you look and unlock at the same time. Like holding up a finger while looking at the phone.

You can probably disable that like pressing home to unlock on 7/7+
