why is it weird or bad that the lowest end phone recycles an old design, thus saving money on its overall development and allowing it to be cheaper for consumers?

Is this thing even cheap? I can get 32GB of Nexus 6P for that price for God's sake. It is just recycled design with almost one year old crap inside.
