HBO (if I subscribed) would double my monthly outlay for streaming video that I currently pay. I am not sure how much more value this will give me, in comparison to my current Hulu+ and Netflix subscriptions.

I hope HBO doesn't set the stage for single channel services 🙁 .

Right - but its also around $12/month with cable/satellite service, so its all relative.

No it isn't, plenty of people have cable packages purely for HBO. This is targeting them. This has been requested for years.
