What's really funny is that the live stream actually, somehow, crashed my Apple TV as a whole. The stream stopped streaming and the remote buttons wouldn't do anything to take me away from the black screen. I had to unplug and plug back in.

This live stream is a joke. Apple are continuously shown up on their live streaming compared to every other event. DDoS is not an excuse, they should be prepared for this.
