Ridonkulous pricing from apple. $4999 for a computer that you can never upgrade. Once it dies after your 2 year warranty, that's it.

Let me buy a Threadripper cpu, throw in some SLI GPU's, get 64GB RAM, and some SSD's and I won't hit $5k plus it will last me years. Windows 10 sure, so what!? MacOS isn't worth this kind of premium.

Not everyone needs an iMac Pro. Most are just fine with the regular iMac 5Ks so what's the problem. Too many people worry about specs, specs, specs. Brilliant creative people can make masterpieces with anything. Reminds me of the musician snob crowd that considers anything less than $4k amplifiers and $3k guitars rubbish.

This might be the quietest, most unenthusiastic crowd I've ever heard at the WWDC.

This crowd can't understand what they are seeing. They expected a big re-design, innovative, fully new event and every single thing here is a "refinement". It's so obnoxious they even went full potato and called the new MacOS "HIGH SIERRA" instead of something new. It's almost like a subtle jab at it's user base. They took a iMac that is already a pro computer, didn't even RE-DESIGN it's chassis, slapped space gray on it and upgrades that .000000001% of Mac users would ever even need.

That.

I've built a machine similarily powerful for exactly half the price of iMac Pro. OS X was good to use, but not worth 2 grand premium.

And I can easily upgrade my box whenever I feel like it.

"Apple is releasing a new set of APIs to make it easier for developers to incorporate machine learning into their apps. Deep neural networks, support vector machines, and other models. On-device processing with data privacy across iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS."

And yet SIRI STILL cannot control playlists, add memo's set a timer or even tell me the time with my phone in my pocket in a subway where I have NO internet connection!

PS: I live in Toronto and subway station to subway station for "TConnect" WiFi is a pain in the ass requiring too much manual intervention.

I kind of want to build something with ARKit. I'm just not sure yet. It's nice to be able to dream up apps using something like this without having to build the framework yourself. That's going to make so many AR apps show up on the App Store overnight.

For 1TB Flash standard, 8-core Xeon, and 32GB of RAM with a 5K display? Find me cheaper windows workstation please.

I mean, I'd much prefer a standard desktop, but iMac's price seems pretty fair to me.

Swap out that 8 core Xeon for the new Intel i9 8 core chip will save you about $1,000. will be interesting to see the premium Apple charges for RAM and storage upgrades. And if you can't fit two M.2 flash drives in the iMac, that's just crappy thinking on Apple's part. ....for a pro machine.

Thank god you can just not buy it and build your PC to whatever you want, and move on with life right?

Instead of interacting with actual legos, interact with your iPad that has video of legos....Good grief.
