CarPlay Question: I've got an appointment to have the Alpine Wireless CarPlay unit installed on Thursday. Will the update be available through updating my phone to iOS 13? Or would that be something Alpine would have to adopt?

Way better Siri speech which makes people use Siri way more.
Dark Mode (self explanatory).
Tons of new Memoji features and Stickers.
Performance Improvements over iOS 12 which was already fast.
Decreased download App Sizes from the App Store.

I was expecting improved battery life... pehaps Dark Mode in OLED gives that help.

Yes, dark mode for OLED improves life.
Use dark wallpaper, etc.
Unlike LCD which is backlit, OLED turns on individual pixels. Black backgrounds save lots of battery.

Using a touch screen 8+ hours / day just isn't realistic.

the software is managed through your iPhone, so any CarPlay updates should be available.

The more i see iPadOS, the more i think MacOS is almost near on a tablet.. Most of the things are very similar. Even SMB and thumb drive support
