Yep. I live just north of San Diego, but spend a lot of time all over San Diego, LA and Riverside County and have a first gen AT&T iPad and a Verizon 4s and overall the Verizon coverage seems to be better, though in most areas you can't tell.right now Verizon has the best LTE coverage in LA and so-cal
said it nicely. keep in mind though once the new iPhone hits, att's network will be tested. majority of the iPhone owners are still on att and many will want to get the new phone. in the past, att has done a piss poor job of keeping up with the data demands in california on their 3g network. hopefully that isn't the case with lte, but i wouldn't give att the benefit of the doubt. Both AT&T and Verizon have LTE coverage in LA. However, AT&T's coverage in CA only covers LA, San Diego, and San Francisco. Verizon's coverage in CA covers much more such as Santa Barbara, Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, Fresno, Monterey, San Jose, etc... So if you plan on traveling around the state, Verizon would be the better option. AT&T's LTE is significantly faster in major areas, due to the far less number of users, so if you are primarily going to use it in LA, it probably will be the better option for the near future.
