No matter how many times I take a live photo in any situation, they always abruptly speed up in the middle of viewing them and aren't the same consistent speed. Example, I take a live photo of something moving and once I go back to view it, the object will move at a normal speed at first and then suddenly really fast, generally around the time of the live photo that the actual photo is captured, and then normal again towards the end, just making the video appear very stuttery and awful compared to other Live Photos I've viewed.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong? I just don't understand...

The camera will decide the frame rate. Ideally it will be 15fps, but sometimes it's only 7.5 fps. Nothing much you could do about it.

I have taken a few Live Photos and they don't do that. Obviously regardless of the frame rate that is not acceptable. What model phone and have you brought it into Apple or tried some of recovery steps.

It's an iPhone 6s Plus i've had since release day. I set it up as a new iPhone when I first got it, and I haven't restored it or anything since. Just OTA updates. I guess I could try restoring it and starting new again, but I was hoping there would be an easier solution...

anything to do with the pressure you press the screen (3Dtouch)?

im not sure, but did the live photos become worse after the latest ios update when they added this cam down -feature to cut the end of the live photo off? i dont know but they seems to be quite "messy" nowadays when i take any... maybe im just imagining, but in some of the photos it looks like it is skipping frames.

No it's not that. But yeah, I think Apple needs to do some major improvements in future updates to Live Photos. It defiantly appears to skip frames/speed up right in the middle which is generally the exact moment you take the photo. It's as if that moment you take the photo lags the live photo snippet, causing it to skip frames and appear to speed up.

I've actually managed to view some other people's Live Photos online (through the new Tumblr update) and I've noticed that most of them speed up in the middle of their recordings as well, but there's still that percentage of people with smooth Live Photos which I just don't get how...
