I've never had this problem with previous iPhones, including my iPhone 14 Pro.

I like shooting live photos. A problem I have noticed on my last trip is that if I do so... about 50% of the time when I go to edit the photo there is no 'live' tab at the bottom. I cannot adjust the live portion. Even worse, any other edits I make (including photographic styles) turn off the 'live' aspect of the photo.

Happens with photos that have portrait data, and without, so I don't think that is connected. I have some really nice live photos that also have DOF effects applied, and some turds where I can basically do neither. Is it a bug? Is it by design (perhaps where the camera moved too much to get a 'good' live effect in the phone's opinion)?

What iOS are you running? Live photos does not work in Portrait mode (not on my 14PM with iOS 17.7). I experimented editing a Live photo changing the Photo Filter Styles and it remained a Live photo after the edit.

Looks like when the moderators moved my thread it removed the iPhone 16 Pro tag! 16 Pro, iOS 18.

The iPhone user guide says when portrait effects are applied, the live photo doesn't work any more. I'm finding most photos can actually be both... but I'm also finding some odd photos are neither. Well... they are live, but when I go to edit there is no 'live' tab at the bottom and any edits lead to the live effect being turned off (with no way to turn it back on)

Assign this caller a ringtone of 30 seconds of silence. The phone will never ring for this caller but she will get voicemail.

I don't have iPhone 16, nor iOS 18, so it seems like a bug for sure. It's a shame you lost your tags when the moderators moved the thread.
