Live Photos import as a video + live photo in Photos app

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is new to MacOS Sierra or if it's been a thing for a while, but basically, when I import my Live Photos from my iPhone 6s into the Photos app on the MacOS Sierra Beta, the photo imports (as a live photo) as you'd expect, but a video of the live photo is also imported.

This means there are two of every live photo that I import: one a live photo, the other a 3 second video.

Can this be turned off? Is this meant to happen?

I believe it is how Live photos work. this happens in el Capitan as well so no, it is not a bug
