I'm very disappointed in the live wallpaper. It looks great in the ads. All liquid and flowing. The only time I see it move is when I'm selecting it. The message to press on the screen to see it animate comes up. It looks good when I press on it then but that's the only time I see it move. No excitement during normal use.

It’s the equivalent of one of those crappy rides outside of a Kmart. It’s colorful and looks fun, but doesn’t do much and doesn’t last.

Lock screen only when pressed. That’s it.

Moves for me. The more I angle the phone the more motion the wallpaper does.

I wish they would be able to implement some of the live designs we have, and the ones coming in 11.2 to some sort of dynamic wallpaper since those actually do something.

Live wallpaper is not equal to dynamic wallpaper or screensaver sort of thing. It is what it says it is. Reacts to your press. Just like live photos. You see movements on them when you 3d touch.

Meh. Never used it since they first came out with this. Used it for 5 seconds and went back to my normal custom wallpaper.

Seems some are confused here.

Dynamic wallpapers move on their own

Live wallpapers are static until you touch the screen and will animate until you let go of the screen.

The live wallpapers are a joke. Not sure why Apple even bothers with them. I’d rather see more dynamic wallpapers.

I would like the wallpaper from the iPhone X commercial, the flowing colors.

I’m on an 8 Plus - so you’re saying if you have a live wallpaper on the X, it goes into motion when you wake the phone?
No that is a dynamic wallpaper.
Live wallpapers only move when pressed upon. You can make a Live Photo and then use it as a live wallpaper.
I haven’t seen a way to make your own dynamic wallpaper.

The iPhone X commercials show the wallpaper moving on it's own. No finger on the screen. It's not necessary in life but it would be nice to have what they advertised.

It’s not even showing the actual wallpaper but a video showing the colours mixing to highlight the new display.
