Finally my iMac will cease to be my desktop daily driver. Nope she is not dead.

She will assume the post as my 10-year old daughter's daily driver. Lol. Hope she can withstand it and not give up. Prepping her up for shipping. I enjoyed her a lot.

Powermac Quad now for my everyday desktop.

I have those same speakers! Although yours appear to be the wrong way around

I have lurked this post since it started....

Like the title says, I have watched this one, wondering where it would go. As I am a HUGE PPC fan.
Around 8 years ago I took the jump from my 8600/300 to a G3/300 Server addition tower. Both were bought through the lemswap list and shipped to me while I was stationed in Turkey. In that time I have owned damned near every PPC desktop aside from the Blue&White. (My cube should be here in a few days!! :D).
But I digress, I have watched this post, because as you can see in my sig, my "main daily driver" is a 2011 i7 mini. But I have to be honest. I spend at least 80% of my daily computing time on the G4 PB 1.5. I have been impressed with this laptop from the day I unpacked it and started to use it. I still have some projects in mind for it that are posted in other threads.

At any rate. Great thread! Love to hear I am not the only hold out that sees these machines as more than tools. I have an affinity for this laptop I really cannot explain or justify.

Great, it is nice that I am not alone. As you can see on my sig, I have intel macs too, but I am spending more time on my PPC machines than on the intel ones.

Quite easy to do. I use my 1ghz eMac with 1gb ram regularly. I upgraded the hard drive to 240gb, and it is my main iTunes machine synced to my apple tv, both iPods and iPad. I also play sim city 4, roller coaster tycoon 3 and zoo tycoon 2 regularly. Not to mention my 8000+ iPhoto images, scanner and iWork word processing. For my associates degree (started my undergrad last semester) I used my iBook for all my class work, including a Texas instruments ti-84 emulator for my math classes. So basically I am saying ppc machines are still useful.

When I started my undergrade I was using an iBook G3/900 for my on the go computing and a Dual DA/533 running 10.4.11 at home. Both machines worked extremely well. In fact, I only parted with my DA last summer as my wife was hinting there were a few too many macs in my home office!
PPC machines are incredible beasts. I have actually been impressed enough with this 15 1.5 PB that I am in the market for a tricked out 17" 1.67!

Love the setup by the one! I always wanted an eMac. I just don't think I could live with the small screen! My laptop can get annoying enough at times.

Mind sharing some good emulator?
My ti-83 just died and I have disabled Spotlight due to performance problems so I can't calculate easy stuff that way either. Just want some small stuff where I can add brackets etc

I retired my dual 533, and a trio of 700s. I keep the 700 MHz g4s in the garage in case I have a catastrophic failure of my eMac.
