Load earlier messages option?

Sorry if this has been posted already...for the first time today, I noticed that I had an option that said load earlier messages on one of my text message threads. What happened was I just scrolled to the top of a long text message thread that I was having with an friend and then I saw that option and pressed it and it bought up the rest of the long message thread. Has this been around since iOS 4?

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know about that one...

BTW - I discovered a relatively old vid on UTube that showed some "hidden" features of iOS5. Was surprised to learn 3-4 things* I didn't know, and I've had the iOS5 since it was originally dropped. Those guys in Cupertino - always one step ahead!

*Example: Double tap the label of email boxes and you get a search bar. Same for messages (tap the Messages labael) and, of course, same for contacts.
