Loading removed files?

Hello,

My friend was making a project at school with their iMac, and it seems like someone removed it to her. I was wondering if is there anything she can do to load these removed files? It's a project of half an year and its very important for her.

We'd need to know a little more about how they were removed, but you could try something like Data Rescue III. She should also use the machine as little as possible, as the data could be overwritten.

"removed it to her"? What do you mean by this?

Anyway, shut down the mac. Don't use it. Then connect it to another mac using firewire target disk mode. Now use DataRescue to scan for deleted files.

If you keep using the mac, it might overwrite the files.
