Hi,

I don't know if this is the right forum to place this question but here it goes.
I have a large collection (more than 400) of movies/series/documentaries in DVD/Blu-Ray/VHS. More than 90% of them I have copied to video files in a NAS so everyone in the house can access them at any time. I would like to know if there exists any app or software that can identify the files and make a database with all the names and then look up in the internet and create a db file with the movie's data, actors, poster etc.
I've seen plenty of apps that make movie databases but I doubt the will do it parting from files in a HDD and I would have to pay for them just to find out.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Charlie.

File identification is dependent on the way you have named the files and the app you use. Plex, for example, requires a movie file to be named something like moviename (2022). It supports more complex structures such as multiple versions, multiple disks, etc. It's primary function is as a media server so might not be relevant. Works with a NAS.

CLZ Movie collector allows you to create a movie database. Won't do it from media, you have to scan the bar codes of the disks or add the movie manually.
