Just rang my local o2 store (leigh) to confirm they had the iphone available for tomorrow and they told me they was out of stock. If they are holding back handsets for themselfs and friends surely this is not allowed.

Do you think i should ring o2 and complain?

:mad::mad::mad:

they have them in stock at carphonewarehouse online

including delivery tomorrow.

might be a good bet. just ordered one 10 minutes ago :)

Since pre-ordering in store and reservation isnt allowed they shouldnt be sold out at all.

If you know the name of the person you called, then try to complain at O2's customer service, or better yet, record the whole thing and spread the words online.:p

As I've said elsewhere, I recommend anyone finding a store taking reservations drops Matthew Key a line at O2 to let him know what his workers are up to! His email address is matthew dot key at o2 dot com
change the email to something like that ^ , to protect his email from spam bots
however, i may spam him tomorrow if they are in fact reserving iphones

Rang o2 complaints and got no sense out of them at all. He had the cheek to say i should of preordered one then. I told him that you couldnt prorder in store but he couldnt grasp that.

Will try the email route as well now.

Then you may as well include your telephone complain experience too, while you are at it.

Grass the store up.

I just spoke to my local store and they said they still didn't know how many phones or what type they were getting. I asked to reserve one and he said not allowed.

I just rang my local one. They said some have reserved there since 3 weeks ago and that the white one will be available at Xmas? Thought it was August?

O2 ARE NOT OFFICIALLY RESERVING HANDSETS

if you go to an O2 and are told there are all reserved demand that the rep puts you on the phone to the area manager, as this is against O2 policy to reserve handsets!

Update

UPDATE:

I have just recieved a call form o2 apologising for yesterday and they asked me did i get sorted with a handset in the end, which i did. The guy said he had found one for me if i still needed one.

Bit of a shock really, but impressed with the call back.
