"localhost/" downloading not displaying PHP files

Hiya

When I copy html files to by "documents" directory within the "Library / Webserver" directory, they show up just fine under "http : // localhost /"

However, when I type in a PHP file that I copied there, it just downloads it, rather than displaying it. Why? And how do I fix this problem?

Do you have PHP installed/enabled?
