So. I set up my new iPhone 12 Pro earlier today and the location services arrow wasn’t next to the time all day and now it is. I don’t have any apps set to “always” and when I turn location services off, the arrow goes away. Is there a way to figure out which app is causing it. The arrow is hollow most of the time and occasionally turns solid. It’s driving me crazy. Thanks

There is a setting box you can click that keeps the arrow there at all times. I just randomly saw it and clicked it off and it was gone. I got lucky lol

So you just turned off the display of the location services arrow (even though something might actually be using location services), or there was a system service that was using it that you ended up disabling?

This is the thing I turned off. The location services aren’t turned off, just this option that keeps the arrow up there all the time.

I see. Basically the option that just hides the arrow associated with system services. There can still be a system service that is using location services, but you just won't see the arrow that notifies you of that use when that option is disabled.

Correct. When I had that option enabled the arrow kept changing from hollow to solid and that was indicating when LS was being used. Now, I just did a test and when I went into my Waze app the arrow showed up but went away when I closed it out, so the arrow still shows up but only when apps that use it are opened.

It does sound like there's a system service that is consistently using in one way or another it though.
