Location service icon always on?

Hi! I've noticed that there's a purple icon always next to IFTTT. Is this normal?

Btw, on my iPad the location icon is not on

Is there a setting for that app to use background services or anything like that? Is the location arrow always present in the status bar on top and always looks the same?

That purple arrow will indicate on the status bar when the app uses your gps chip. When it's done getting your location it will turn off and the arrow will go away.
