I see they updated the app in the app store.. downloaded and checking now.

Yup they fixed it...

Do you have the weather channel app? That was the culprit on my end. Disable it in location services (or just trash it).

*edit*

sorry couldn't tell how long the thread was from my phone. What everyone above me said.

The update fixed the issue for me. I had not deleted the app like some of you, just turned off location services and used my bookmarked cities, and upon turning it back on after the update everything went back to normal.

What's up, lost the ability to search and read reviews?

What's your problem bud? I wasn't even being a dick, which you clearly are. Since you seem to be so well versed in the matter I figured you'd like to make some suggestions.

I had the same issue with the Weather Channel app last week. Killed the location service to it. If I remember correctly they had the same issue with a previous version of the app too.

Call me a hypocrite, but I thought it was only forum dicks who go around dishing out petty insults? If you can't handle a dose of reality and are unable to help yourself once in a while, what are you doing on the internet at all?

I am very capable of finding a different weather app other than TWC, and I have previously already done so. In my iTunes library I currently have Shine, Storm Spotter, MegaWeatherHD, NOAA Weather Radio and TWC. I was simply asking what your personal opinion was as far as a better weather app, since you vehemently opposed TWC. I wasn't asking you to spoon feed it to me, send me to a link, or search for me. Forgive me for wanting to know your opinion. Which is what I think the internet, and this sort of forum, are made for.

Sorry, you're the king of all internets, carry on.

Since you use them...would it really be that difficult to take 2 seconds and offer up a couple of suggestions? Help a little to a fellow community member?

I mean i really enjoyed your absolute gem of a response with "There are far better blah blah generic blah", but maybe...just maybe...offering up the name of those "far better apps" would be just as quality laced.

The Weather Channel's updated app 4.0 has a bug where location services is stuck on. I removed the app and awaiting an update from them...

Same thing happened to me, all I did was go into location services and turned off location services for it. It seemed to work.

Thanks for seeing what I am seeing. I really don't know who pissed in his corn flakes this morning. I only wanted some of his own personal suggestions.

Antman- go into the AppStore...you should see an update for it that solves this problem. I did what you did and turned off location services (and just used my bookmarked cities). Last night I downloaded the update, went into location services and allowed TWC access again, and everything is working great. My only gripe is that TWC (and everything lately?) is now twitter integrated. Call me an old man but I think twitter is a childish trend. Hey - maybe that's why I don't get along with twitt3r

Reminders App

While selectively disabling location services, I was surprised to discover that it was Apple's "Reminders" app that was making the icon stay on (not any of my GPS apps). I did have a couple location-specific reminders set.
