lock an Application window open

Does anyone know if there an easy way to lock an application window open ? I like to listen to a web based radio station in one window but will open other other windows in Safari to surf. Is there a way that I can lock safari from quitting a window if I accidently W too many times ?

I'd just minimize it to the Dock. A minimized window won't answer Command-W

I can do that, I was thinking more on the line of MLB.com where they show pitch by pitch play - I'd rather have that open if I could.

My work around has been Safari open on what I want to watch and Firefox to surf.

I tend to use -Tab and accidently close the wrong app sometimes.
