Sometimes I just want to lock my iPhone to see what's on the lockscreen (I've got Forecast installed). Right now, I lock which shuts the screen off and then have to push the home button or power button to turn the screen back on.

Is there any tweak, app, etc that will simply show the lockscreen (and lock the phone) without shutting the screen off? Or is this possible at all?

Cool, thanks, I will check it out.

    ----------

I actually have that installed as I don't care for the lockscreen going dark almost immediately. But it seems it doesn't prevent the screen from going dark when you press the button to lock the phone. You have to press the button again to turn the screen on and then 20 second lock screen kicks in.

    ----------

How would I achieve that? I took a look at that as an option and didn't see how I could do it.

EDIT: Sleep to Lock, exactly what I was after. Thanks!

Wow this is truly one of those tweaks that you do not know that you need. Had never even thought about this until you brought it up.

Yeah, it's something that's been bugging me. I come from a Windows Mobile background. Been using an HTC Touch Pro for the last two and a half years. Had it heavily customized where I had a complete HTC Sense theme running on it. Flipclock with weather and the whole bit. When I plug that phone in, the standard WinMo settings for power turn the screen on and keep it on. Which is great because I used it for a clock at my desk at work. Also, with WinMo when you lock your device all it does is LOCK the device. It doesn't sleep the device or the screen.

So, this is the same behaviour I wanted with my i5. Sleep to Lock and 20 Second Lockscreen now give me that. Since Forecast is on my lockscreen it's now a simple matter of locking the phone and boom there's my clock and forecast. This is great and I'm very glad lanceuppercut47 mentioned it!
