Lock screen brighter then "home" screen?

is this normal? Im just so paranoid about a faulty ipad with all these forum posts! yellow tint dead pixels etc! I know this is a small portion of the 3 million ipads sold but I just want to make sure my product is a 100% perfect Lol.

It's probably the auto-brightness kicking in after you unlock. Normal.

My iphone did this. Turn off auto brightness under brightness settings and it stops it
