Lock screen real estate

Come apple please use the empty space on your lock screen for a minimum weather widget. Just something basic, current condition and temp. I mean really how hard is it. I just want to hit the button and see it I don't want to slide to see it. Just time and weather underneath. Easy peasy. No jailbreak.

Agreed. Just take a look at how much screen real estate is wasted on the iPad home screen. You could drive a truck between those icons.

I was thinking a very large semi with a trailer attached. But yes, lots of wasted space indeed, which is unfortunate.
