I use CandyBar to change Mac icons however the applications Sparrow, iPhoto, and iMovie have a lock and I can't seem to change it. Anyone know how?

Try this:

Some of the icons in 10.6 are locked from changing via permissions. If you cmmd-i a file and change the group everyone to read/write it will apply the icon. You can then change it back.

It doesn't work. I tried setting permission to Read & Write but I still can't change the icons. I tried setting 'Wheel' to Read and Write as well. There has got to be a way because I've seen many user-created icons for the Sparrow and iPhoto apps.

I'm not sure what else to try. I know I could never get it to work when I used CandyBar. Since 10.8 I stopped using it.

Locked Icons on CandyBar

Ok I think I changed something while I was playing with the settings because now when I log out, I get two options, to either log in as user or guest. How do I remove the Guest login?

Do you happen to have bought those apps from the App Store?

Never mind. I figured out how to change app icons from the App Store.
